With the pandemic disruption, manufacturers have additional incentives to expand ecommerce capabilities. In addition to their traditional B2B customers, many manufacturers are now selling directly to consumers. The B2C segment is forcing manufacturers to focus on building a loyal customer base and be able to provide personalization of their products. We will review the trends and challenges that manufacturers face in both the B2B & B2C space. Some of these initiatives include a focus on marketing and brand awareness, leveraging insights gained from customer behavior, seamless integration to CRM & order fulfillment systems, and chatbots that enhance customer service. Above all, manufacturers are trying to present an omnichannel shopping & customer service experience, regardless of how the customer interacts with the seller.
