Supply chain is vital to the survival and growth of businesses as many future trends will impact how supply chains are managed, designed and operated. APICS-IE has assembled a panel of experts for a discussion on emerging supply chain trends on Saturday, April 30 at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, Calif., to help manufacturing, distribution and logistics attendees to anticipate any disruptions.

CLAREMONT, Calif., April 26, 2016 The Inland Empire Chapter of APICS,  the leading association for supply chain and operations professionals, is driving the discussion on emerging supply chain trends and how to react to them in the Spring Executive Panel & Networking Symposium: Emerging Supply Chain Trends on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Expert panelists include Dr. Chris Gopal, Senior Fellow at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, and Executive Director of the Drucker Center for Supply Chain & Logistics, Craig Young, VP of Manufacturing Niagara Bottling, Roy Paulson, President, Paulson Manufacturing, and C.J. Nord, Chairperson of the Institute of Supply Management, Policy & Steering Committee Member of the Center for International Trade and Transportation, and Supply Chain Manager at California Faucets.

Attendees will also be able to ask questions on supply chain data and trends, but also how companies should be forward thinking and respond to slow moving stock, supplier reliability, lead times and forecasting.  Networking and benchmarking with area companies and partners will build contacts within the manufacturing and distribution community and also help them build their career.

“We really plan to tackle the importance of forward-thinking by identifying emerging trends in supply chain, explains Lisa Anderson, President of APICS-IE and LMA Consulting Group.  “Armed with data and statistics, our attendees can make the case for changes in anticipation of potential disruptions impacting their business. Our partners also play a critical role in providing education, future employees, products and services to address these trends and help with supply chain management.”

Sponsor partners this year include Arbela Technologies, Brandman University, and the Manufacturing Executive Institute providing additional value to attendees during the Symposium. Besides their support of the event, they are also resources to help attendees react to emerging supply chain trends.

“Many organizations are faced with the same common problems that include increasingly complex global markets, labor issues and major economic fluctuations,” said Amir Khoshniyati, Marketing and Sales Lead at Arbela Technologies. “As a result, supply chain managers are looking for the proper ERP solutions that can help meet these challenges in addition to having more efficient people and processes, a better handle on costs, happier customers and ultimately greater profits.”

Brandman University is a new sponsor that can help attendees deal with training and labor issues. “With a mutual passion for continued learning, education, and innovation in supply chain, Brandman University is proud to participate in this year’s annual symposium,” Nick Lacy, Director National Relations.  “We look forward to devoted professionals from across the Inland Empire gathering together with the unique opportunity to be challenged, motivated, and enlightened with emerging supply chain trends.”

Held twice yearly, platinum sponsor Manufacturing Executive Institute actively promotes attendance at the Symposium. “We feel that our manufacturing and distribution members benefit greatly from attending the APCIS-IE Symposium especially with topics like emerging supply chain trends,” states

Maggie Watson, Manufacturing Executive Institute.  “The opportunity to hear from experts and get actionable ideas that they can take back to their workplaces is of great benefit.”
